Carol Newman

Professor of Economics, Trinity College Dublin

Carol Newman in a Professor in Economics at the Department of Economics, Trinity College Dublin, Chair of the Trinity International Development Initiative (TIDI) and co–founder of the Trinity Impact Evaluation unit (TIME). Her research is in the field of development economics, in particular the micro–foundations of development covering both household and enterprise behaviour. She is currently involved in a number of major projects in South East Asia and Africa including Vietnam, Cambodia, Uganda, Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania.

She has an extensive network of international collaborators in Europe and in developing countries and has over 15 years of experience in teaching economics and supervising graduate students.
