Co–Founder ‘Foodcloud’

Aoibheann O’Brien is co–founder of FoodCloud (a multi award winning social enterprise focused on reducing food waste, connecting businesses with surplus food to charities that need it) and CEO of FoodCloud Hubs – a national network of food redistribution hubs in Ireland.

In six years, FoodCloud has grown to have over 3,200 retail stores across the UK and Ireland, including Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and Waitrose, donating surplus food through its software platform to over 7,000 charities and three redistribution Hubs in Galway, Dublin and Cork.

In 2017, Aoibheann and her FoodCloud co–founder Iseult Ward, were presented with the EY Entrepreneur of the year 2017 Special Award. Aoibheann is also a winner of the Irish Red Cross Humanitarian Award 2018, Image Business Women of the year 2017, Social Entrepreneurs Ireland, Impact Awardee 2014 and Green Entrepreneur of the Year at The 2014 Green Awards.
